Because all channels are true live broadcast windows, there are no pause, seek, or rewind controls. Every viewer experiences the programme simultaneously, from classic British comedy and 90s cartoons to 24/7 Simpsons marathons and curated music hits.
VectorTV believes that television programmes and movies should not be interrupted with adverts. We display popular old advertisements from across the past 3 decades, advertisements which people in the UK have loved. But these are shown at the end of programming, and not in the middle of it.

How The Streaming System Works
VectorTV operates dedicated broadcasting infrastructure delivering linear television feeds directly to the web. Broadcast streams are generated on-the-fly using Tunarr and transmitted as standard HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) at 1280x720 resolution (2.4 Mbps, H.264 video, AAC stereo) through our secure broadcast reverse proxy at https://stream.vectorstudios.uk.
Understanding the 10-Second Startup Delay
To optimize energy efficiency and network bandwidth, channels not currently being viewed remain in standby mode until requested. When you tune in to an idle channel, the broadcast encoder initialises and begins transcoding the live feed. It takes approximately 10 to 15 seconds for the first video segments to become available. If a channel takes a moment to tune in, please allow the stream buffer to initialise.
To ensure smooth transmission and optimal station performance:
- Each viewer streams one channel at a time. Switching channels automatically releases the previous video feed.
- Playback will pause automatically after 3 hours of continuous playback to check that you're still watching.
- Streams left inactive in background tabs are automatically suspended to preserve station streaming bandwidth.
Channel 11 & The Live London Weather Service
Channel 11 (VectorWeather) broadcasts a dedicated retro WeatherStar 4000 forecast for Greater London, accompanied by smooth background music.
Nightly Off-Air Window: Between 03:45 and 05:00 UK time every night, Channel 11 goes off air for automated weather data updates and satellite calibration. It returns automatically at 05:00 UK time.
